The second International Forum on Women’s Brain and Mental Health, with the theme “Sex and Gender Differences in Mental and Brain Health: The Gateway to Precision Medicine” took place at the University of Zurich in June 2019.
Over 100 cross-sectoral leaders and experts called for sex & gender to be considered as proper variables in scientific research, to achieve equalitarian precision medicine, particularly in brain and mental health.
This includes global experts in mental health and precision medicine, coming from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the National Institute on Aging (NIA), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the World Health Organization (WHO), academia, pharma, as well as patients and caregivers.
We discussed the role of sex and gender in research, clinical trials, prevention, and novel technologies, in a setting unique for its format, multidisciplinary approach, and inspiring atmosphere.
